Ms. Mylene E. Attaban, Social Welfare Officer III and Head of the Crisis Intervention Unit and the Focal Person on National Drug Rehabilitation Program’s Pillar III on Aftercare, Reintegration and Transformation Support for Recovering Drug Dependents, led the activity and facilitated the role-playing activity for the residents with the support of the Center staff.

In line with the present administration’s war against drugs, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 (FO2) joins the nation in this year’s observance of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

With the theme, “Listen First: Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe,” FO2 led by Ms. Mylene E. Attaban, Social Welfare Officer III and Head of the Crisis Intervention Unit and the Focal Person on National Drug Rehabilitation Program’s Pillar III on Aftercare, Reintegration and Transformation Support for Recovering Drug Dependents, visited the residents of Cagayan Valley Regional Rehabilitation Center for the Youth (CV-RRCY).

Mr. Peter John M. Villamil, CV-RRCY’s Nurse, facilitated the orientation on the Medical Effects of Drugs in the Human Body and Family Drug Abuse Prevention Program for the residents.

Together with Mr. Peter John M. Villamil, CV-RRCY’s Nurse, an orientation on the Medical Effects of Drugs in the Human Body and Family Drug Abuse Prevention Program were discussed to the residents.

“There are a number of drug-related cases amongst the residents of CV-RRCY, thus, this year’s celebration of International Day Against Drugs is very timely as we had the opportunity to re-introduce and offer to them our interventions,” said Ms. Attaban.

Likewise, a team building activity was organized for the residents through a role-playing activity where three groups presented a play focusing on how they got involve with drugs. ### By: Gela Flor R. Perez, Regional Information Officer II
