With the implementation of Executive Order No. 70 which institutionalized a whole-of-nation approach in obtaining exclusive and sustainable life to the communist terrorist groups who returned to their respective provinces, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 2 took part in the Bayanihan sa Barangay of the together with the Philippine National Police (PNP) held at Sitio Lagis, Barangay Sindon, Bayabo, Ilagan City Isabela on August 29, 2020. The Bayanihan sa Barangay aims to counter insurgencies through good governance and community trust building by providing assistance and resources to conflict areas.

 

DSWD FO2 pledged its commitment to efficient delivery of basic services such as distribution of Family Food Packs (FFPs) in relation to PNP Food for Work project and conduct of socio-civic activities. All the community people participated in the construction of public comfort rooms, potable water system, clean-up drive and community beautification while DSWD in support to this effort, provided five hundred (500) FFPs with a total amount of P217,430. DSWD FO2 committed to provide additional seven hundred seventy six (776) FFPs which will be distributed to in Bisagu, Aparri and Kapanikian, Sta. Ana Cagayan.

 

The said Bayanihan sa Barangay program was attended by Lucia S. Alan, DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Marciano D. Dameg, DSWD Disaster Reduction Management Division Head, PBGEN Crizaldo O. Nieves, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 2, PCOL James M. Cipriano, Provincial Director of Isabela Provincial Office, representatives from Department of Health and other private organizations.
