ALICIA, Isabela – Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Cagayan Valley were recognized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) 4Ps National Program Management Office (NPMO) during its monitoring visit to the region on September 15–16, 2025.
Director Gemma B. Gabuya, Program Manager of 4Ps, led the activities that highlighted best practices and strengthened partnerships with local stakeholders.
Among the projects visited was the communal garden in Barangay Aurora, Alicia. Established and maintained by 35 4Ps beneficiaries, the garden not only provides food for their families but also serves as an added source of income.
Recently, the project was awarded First Runner-Up under the Innovative Project Category during the 4Ps Family Day and Awards Rites. Director Gabuya lauded the beneficiaries for their hard work and teamwork, describing the garden as an inspiring model of resourcefulness and community participation.
“These initiatives show what the program is all about—helping families improve their lives through health, education, and livelihood opportunities,” Gabuya said.
During the visit, Director Gabuya also met with Pacific Star International Manpower Agency, Inc., an active Civil Society Organization (CSO) partner in the region. The CSO has opened overseas employment opportunities for 4Ps beneficiaries and has supported the program through school supplies donations, graduation tokens, and wellness support for staff.
“The success of the program relies on strong partnerships. The support of our CSO partners and the local government shows what we can achieve when we work together for our beneficiaries,” she added.
The two-day visit forms part of NPMO’s ongoing efforts to promote innovative practices and reinforce collaboration with stakeholders across the country.
