ECHAGUE, Isabela — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 2 (DSWD FO2), through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), awarded a total of ₱2.1 million in livelihood grants to four (4) Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) in the municipality of Echague, Isabela on July 28, 2026.
The four SLPAs, composed of 70 members, are made up of participants referred through Project LAWA at BINHI (PLAB) as part of the program’s sustainability interventions. The grants will support the implementation of community-based agricultural livelihood projects designed to increase food production, strengthen food security, and improve the economic well-being of association members.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Echague also gave ₱5,000 per barangay with a project unxer PLAB to ensure sustainability of the program.
Among the recipient associations, Pag-Asa Agri-Venture SLPA received ₱450,000, Babaran Yogad SLPA was awarded ₱480,000, Ugad Region SLPA received ₱570,000, while Diaman Harmonious SLPA obtained ₱600,000 in livelihood capital.
The awarding ceremony was led by DSWD FO2 Regional Director Lucia Suyu-Alan and attended by Echague Mayor Hon. Faustino “Inno” Dy V., Promotive Services Division Chief Pasencia T. Ancheta, and representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).
Through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, DSWD continues to empower communities by providing vulnerable sectors with opportunities to establish sustainable sources of income, contributing to improved household resilience and long-term self-sufficiency.
