PROVINCE OF CAGAYAN – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 2 (DSWD FO2), through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), released a total of ₱7.73 million in livelihood grants to 27 Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) across the Province of Cagayan throughout July 2026.
The assistance benefited eight ( 8 ) PUNLA SLPAs and 19 SIBOL SLPAs, providing financial support to strengthen and sustain their community-based livelihood enterprises.
PUNLA and SIBOL are key components of the program’s five-year livelihood sustainability framework, which aims to help beneficiaries achieve long-term economic stability and self-sufficiency. PUNLA, which symbolizes seed planting, equips participants with the foundational knowledge, skills, and resources needed to establish their own microenterprises. Meanwhile, SIBOL, which represents growth, supports existing enterprises in expanding their operations and reaching higher levels of productivity and sustainability.
The release of livelihood grants reflects DSWD FO2’s continuing commitment to empowering community organizations through sustainable economic opportunities. With the financial assistance, the recipient SLPAs are expected to strengthen their enterprises, create employment opportunities, improve household incomes, and contribute to the overall economic resilience of their communities.
