The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 2 (DSWD FO2) welcomed officials of the Department of Health – Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DOH-TRC) Region 2 for a consultative meeting on August 10, 2026, at the DSWD FO2 Regional Office.
The discussion focused on enhancing collaboration between DSWD FO2 and DOH-TRC Region 2 in providing continued assistance to clients under the Outpatient and Aftercare Program. Among the key agenda items were the proposed execution of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen recovery and reintegration interventions, and the possible endorsement of the Aftercare-Outpatient Program under DSWD’s Yakap Bayan Program to expand support services for recovering individuals.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Regional Director for Administration Celso L. Arao Jr., DOH-TRC Region 2 Chief of Hospital III Charity I. Canapi, other representatives from DOH-TRC Region 2, and officials and personnel of DSWD FO2.
The consultative meeting highlights the importance of a whole-of-government approach in helping recovering individuals rebuild their lives. By strengthening partnerships, both agencies aim to ensure that clients receive not only treatment, but also the social support, livelihood opportunities, and community-based interventions needed for long-term recovery and productive reintegration.
