SAN CARLOS CITY, Negros Occidental – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 2, through its Risk Resiliency Program (RRP) Team, joined the National Experiential Exchange Learning Visit (EELV) organized by the Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB) for Project LAWA at BINHI implementers.

The activity gathered representatives from different Field Offices to observe and learn from successful Project LAWA at BINHI interventions through site visits in Barangays Quezon and Prosperidad, San Carlos City.

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian and DRMB Director Maria Isabel Lanada, led the activity together with officials from the DSWD Central Office and partner Local Government Units (LGUs), highlighting the Department’s efforts to strengthen collaboration and improve the implementation of the program across the country.

During the learning visit, participants met with partner-beneficiaries, LGU officials, and community stakeholders to better understand how Project LAWA at BINHI has helped communities through climate-resilient farming practices, sustainable food production, and other initiatives that support disaster resilience and food security.

The activity also included sessions on creative writing, storytelling, photography, photo editing, and video production to help participants improve their skills in documenting project accomplishments and sharing the stories of partner-beneficiaries and communities. The learning visit gave participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices that can be applied in their respective field offices.
