TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan | As part of its continuing efforts to keep Angels in Red Vests prepared for disasters and other emergencies, the DSWD Field Office 2 joined the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 10, 2026.
The nationwide drill aims to strengthen public awareness and preparedness, particularly on the proper response to an earthquake and other disasters.
During the drill, DSWD FO2 personnel practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure before orderly evacuating to the designated evacuation area. The exercise allowed them to practice their response and assess their readiness in case of an actual earthquake.
The activity also highlighted the importance of staying alert, informed, and prepared during emergencies.
As the agency responsible for providing social protection services, especially during disasters, DSWD FO2 continues to strengthen the preparedness of its personnel to help ensure that assistance and services remain available and responsive when people need them most.
