PROJECT LAB UPDATES | Learning from communities on the ground, the DSWD Field Office 2 joined the five-day National Experiential Exchange Learning Visit (EELV) for Project LAWA at BINHI implementers in Paoay, Ilocos Norte held on August 24- 28, 2026.

Organized by the DSWD Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB), the activity included visits to Project LAWA at BINHI sites in Barangays Gabut and Mabaleng, where participants saw firsthand how communities are putting climate-resilient and sustainable practices into use.

Partner-beneficiaries and local implementers also shared their experiences in managing the project, including the challenges they encountered and the practices that helped them keep their initiatives going.

For the DSWD Field FO2-Risk Resiliency Program Team, the visit was a chance to learn from the experiences of other field offices and communities and compare these with their own implementation.

Rather than simply sharing strategies, the activity gave participants an opportunity to learn directly from communities and from other implementers.

The lessons gathered from the visit will be used by DSWD FO2 in improving the implementation of Project LAWA at BINHI and its engagement with partner communities in Cagayan Valley.
