SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya — The DSWD Field Office 2 strengthened the capacity of local responders in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya through a five-day Training of Trainers on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Protection held on August 24–28, 2026.
The training aimed to build a pool of local trainers who can help manage evacuation centers and ensure that displaced families receive proper assistance and protection during disasters.
40 participants including barangay officials and representatives from various municipal offices took part in the activity.
Participants learned the basic standards and principles of camp management, including proper coordination and the protection of the rights and needs of internally displaced persons. They also enhanced their skills in information management, particularly in data gathering, consolidation, and post-processing.
The activity builds on the action plan developed during the Basic Training on CCCM and IDPs Protection conducted in 2024.
With the newly trained local trainers, the LGU of Solano can continue sharing CCCM and IDP protection practices with other local responders and communities, helping ensure a more organized and responsive approach when disasters force families to leave their homes.
Personnel from the DSW-Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) served as resource persons for the training, which was organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Solano through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).
