ListahananOn the first quarter next year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office II (DSWD) thru LISTAHANAN will conduct region wide orientation on the level of Local Government Units (LGUs).

The orientation aims for the LGUs to be aware of the incoming activity and likewise their duties and functions such as to provide fare matrix in the municipality and certification for far flung barangays and hard to reach areas; for urban barangays, provide an accurate pockets of poverty and spearhead proper information dissemination at the barangay level.

“This is one of the major preparatory steps in the second round of household assessment. To be able to do this efficiently and effectively, we need the support of partners, data users particularly the local government units as they are the frontliners in the area.” Delia S. Sto. Tomas, Deputy Regional Project Manager, LISTAHANAN (DRPM) said.

In addition, the LGUs will assist the enumerators and area supervisors in penetrating distant and hard to reach sitios or puroks and participate as members of the Local Verification Committee (LVC) that will act on complains/appeals relating to issues of household eligibility and facilitate validation of household not assessed during the regular enumeration in both urban and rural barangays.

“As early as now, the Regional Household Targeting Unit (RHTU) are really grateful for our partners for showing their support to our LISTAHANAN project. We are assuring that we will give our best efforts in all phases of the project and we hope for the best success of the upcoming second round of household assessment.” Sto. Tomas, added.

On the other hand, for the second round of household assessment, LISTAHANAN will target 622,659 households in region II. This undertaking will update the LISTAHANAN database in which stakeholders are utilizing to identify the potential beneficiaries for their social protection programs.###Ailyn P.
