The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office II (DSWD FO2) through the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), holds the first-ever Gawad Listahanan Awards. This is one of the efforts of DSWD to give recognition to the Local Government Units (LGUs) who have best utilized the Listahanan database as basis for choosing beneficiaries for their programs and services.
The activity also aims to promote the convergence of all social protection stakeholders on the identified poor to effectively address the different aspects of poverty. As well as encourage other stakeholders to adopt Listahanan database for the implementation of their projects.
The Gawad Listahanan Awards is classified into three areas, namely: municipal, city and provincial government.
Meanwhile, the National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU) invited all the LGU data users to submit their application for the said competition.
For LGUs to qualify, they must have an active Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DSWD. Also, they must have a locally funded social protection program that helps the identified poor by Listahanan database and must actively submit their feedback on data utilization.
Regional winner for the Search will be awarded in the DSWD FO2’s Anniversary. Also, the regional winner will be the contender to the National Data Utilization Awards. With this, the national winner can win P50,000.00 incentives that they may use to supplement their programs in helping the identified poor households.
They will also be exposed to different advocacy events of NHTS-PR or Listahanan.
Listahanan database is a comprehensive and reliable database that can be a basis of stakeholders in selecting beneficiaries for their protection programs. The said database is now being used by PhilHealth, Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program and other LGUs, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), National and Local Government Agencies (NGAs). ### By: Ailyn P.
