The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office II (DSWD FO2) in collaboration with the Local Government Units (LGUs) give work to the abled senior citizen through the implementation of Home Care Support and Services for Senior Citizens project on July to September 2014.
This project seeks to establish quality care for the frail, sick, bedridden or senior citizens with disabilities in their homes. Likewise, it seeks to improve the quality of life of senior citizens through friendship and psychological support as well as provide temporary employment to able-bodied senior citizens.
Through the help of the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) and Office of the Senior Citizen Association (OSCA), there are three senior citizen volunteers identified.
In the Province of Cagayan, namely: Flora Allam, Maria Ballad and Dionicia Sta. Maria.
These volunteers will receive Php. 1,300.00 a month and will provide home care services at least two hours in a day and four times a week to the senior citizen beneficiaries.
The common services that will be provided to the beneficiaries are home help, personal care and escorting. Volunteers may also provide health information and referral to the local agencies.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries identified also through OSCA and CSWDO are the following: Narciso Lavadia, Benardio Badajos and Amparo Velasco.
