That, in sum, is the message of DSWD Assistant Secretary Camilo G. Gudmalin during the 4th Unified Regional Project Management Team (URPMT) meeting on October 10, 2014 in Tuguegarao City.
“The social protection programs of the Department are directed towards the attainment of a common goal, that is, the improved well-being of the beneficiaries and this goal can be achieved by implementing those programs thru convergence strategy,” he said.
He also added that aside from focusing on human development, strengthening partnerships with other line agencies, civil society organizations and other volunteer groups in the implementation and monitoring of DSWD’s core programs is a key to warrant that self-reliance of the beneficiaries is realized.
Through convergence strategy, all government interventions and the private sector are synchronized, harmonized and complemented in one geographical area to ensure that reforms in terms of poverty alleviation and social protection are achieved.
Gudmalin appreciated the accomplishments presented by the staff of DSWD FO 02 particularly on the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Sustainable Livelihood Program, the implementation of which uses convergence strategy.
Meanwhile, Director Remia. T. Tapispisan proudly supported and appreciated the efforts of the staff and assured Gudmalin that the field office is moving ahead with convergence strategy in the pursuit of DSWD’s common goal.
Joining Director Tapispisan in welcoming Gudmalin and other staff of the Central Office were Asst. Regional Director for Operations Ponciana P. Condoy, Asst. Regional Director for Administration Delia Sto. Tomas, division heads and other technical staff of the field office. ### GELA FLOR R. PEREZ, Regional Information Officer II
