One thousand seven hundred forty nine (1,749) poor households identified thru Listahanan FO2 now enjoying various social protection programs from the Local Government of Aparri for the year 2014.
“The issuance of the Listahanan Database was very timely and appropriate for the purpose. It readily identified beneficiaries, thereby, facilitated the implementation of programs and services intended for them. The data was also extremely useful to the different line agencies in focusing their programs and projects to qualified beneficiaries.” Mayor Shalimar D. Tumaru, M.D. of Aparri said.
Listahanan has identified 2,476 poor households in the said municipality and of this number, 1,749 are now beneficiaries of Aid in Crisis Situation/Assistance for Medical, Hospitalization, Surgical Operation, continuous medicines, laboratory procedures, burial, transportation, self-employment, emergency shelter, Relief Goods Distribution and Skills Training.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tumaru expressed her gratitude stating that “indeed, the data enabled Local Government Unit of Aparri to perform its mandate of delivering the basic services to the least fortunate among its constituents. Thank you DSWD.”
The Municipality of Aparri is one of the eligible data users of the Listahanan Database by virtue of the Memorandum of Agreement executed between DSWD and the said municipality thru Mayor Tumaru on January 2014.
The National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction or Listahanan of DSWD determines who and where the poor in the Philippines. This is being used by the different partners from the LGUs, National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in identifying beneficiaries of social protection programs.### By: AILYN P.
