This year’s observance of the Women’s Month showcased women empowerment as the Haven for Women and Girls (Haven) gives recognition to exemplary staff and residents.
Among the highlights of the celebration was the participation of residents to the Search for Ms. Haven 2016 where five (5) residents competed for the title, parlor games and awarding of Monthly Best Performing Residents.
“The activity fostered camaraderie among the residents, motivated them to be in their best attitude, minimize quarrels among them and inculcated values formation,” said Ms. Crisencia Ulnagan, Center Head.
Best performing residents were named most disciplined, most improved and most diligent.
Likewise, the outstanding performance of the staff for the first quarter was not left unrecognized.
Ms. Grace Pascua and Ms. Kathleen M. Baloran emerged as the best performing staff for their reliability and work efficiency, among others.
Moreover, Ms. Ulnagan strengthened awareness of the residents on Republic Act Republic Act 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act highlighting children’s rights, women’s rights, types of abuses and where and whom to seek for assistance or help in cases of abuse. ### By: Gela Flor R.
