Cognizant of the life-changing effects of disasters, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 02 in collaboration with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 02 took steps to prepare the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries of DSWD for any disasters to come.

Mucipal Links, the case managers of the beneficiaries, will undergo training on  “Gabay at Mapa para sa Listong Pamilyang Pilipino Module”  which was developed by DILG.

The module includes the development of plans for evacuation to be taken during a disaster alert period to minimize potential loss of life, physical damage and ability to take care of family and possessions after a disaster.

Ultimately, the Municipal Links will transfer their knowledge on disaster preparedness to the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries by incorporating the module in the  Family Development Sessions (FDS), one of the conditions of the program. ### By: Gela Flor R. Perez, Regional Information Officer II
