Following the assessment of households for the Listahanan’s second round of assessment, the National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU) officially started the encoding the Family Assessment Forms (FAFs).
Ms. Pas
encia T. Ancheta, Regional Focal Person (RFP) and Mr. Matthias James Ryan L. Tangonan, Regional Information Officer lead the orientation of NHTU staff.
“Isapuso ninyo ang inyong mga trabaho dahil nakakasalalay sa inyo ang buhay ng mga tao lalo na yung mga mahihirap talaga,” Ms. Ancheta reminded the encoders about their importance of their task.
Likewise, the NHTU ensures the veracity of the encoded FAFs to determine whether or not there are errors or inconsistencies in the FAFs.
“Walang maliit o malaki na detalye dahil ang lahat ng impormasyon sa nasa FAFs ay mahalaga at makaka-apekto sa magiging resulta kapag ito ay sumailalim na sa Proxy Means Test (PMT),” Ms. Ancheta added.
PMT is a statistical model that estimates the income of families using the proxy variables indicated in the FAF which include family composition, education of family members, family conditions, and access to basic services. Estimated income of a family is compared to the poverty threshold per province to determine if it is poor or non-poor.
Meanwhile, to get the NHTU staff ready for the verification, Mr.Tangonan provided technical assistance to elucidate on the process.
The February 2016 data of Listahanan second round of assessment was launched on July 2016 but the On-Demand Application continues to accommodate the complaints from the result.### By: Margarette B. Galimba, Administrative Assistant III/Listahanan IO
