Tthe Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 (DSWD-F02) thru the Policies and Plans Division conducted the 5-day roll-out training on Social Protection Handbook Batch three (3) in Tuguegarao City.

The roll-out training aims to explain the framework, concepts policy history and rationale for social protection policies and programs in the country.

The participants were provided with technical assistance on the skills needed to acquire in the use of social protection handbook as a guide for identifying risks and vulnerabilities, analyzing, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of social protection programs and projects as well as the planning of actions to integrate and mainstream social protection at the local level were discussed to equip the participants with the knowledge and skills on Social Protection.

Likewise, they were given workshops on the following: identification of risks, vulnerabilities and adaption strategies; identification of social protection programs Issues or gaps using the identified risks, vulnerabilities and adaption strategies; identification of local indicators or the inputs, outputs, outcomes or impact of the social protection program; and identification of monitoring and evaluation process of the social protection programs.

The roll-out training was participated by the Local Government Operations Office (LGOO), Local Government Unit (LGU), Municipal Planning and Development Council (MPDC), and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) from the different municipalities and cities of Isabela and Cagayan.

DSWD provides assistance to other national government agencies (NGAs), LGUs, non-government organizations (NGOs), people’s organizations (POs), and members of civil society in the implementation of programs, projects, and services that will alleviate poverty and empower disadvantaged individuals, families, and communities to improve their quality of life also, it implements statutory and specialized social welfare programs and projects. ### By: Margarette B.
