Tuguegarao City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 announced on July 31 that Respicio family of Barangay Batu Enrile, Cagayan as its regional winner for the Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya 2017.

 

Eliza and Panfilo Respicio with a brood of 7 children bested 3 other provincial candidates: Palding Family of Quirino garnering second place, Sagaysay Family of Isabela bagging the third and Alacar family of Nueva Vizcaya on fourth place.

 

The regional search is conducted annually by the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program as recognition for the efforts of compliant families who are faithful to the program and in becoming role models for the other families.

 

The regional field validation and deliberation was conducted from August 25-28 by the Regional Program Management Office in collaboration with representatives from partner agencies from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices of the concerned towns, Commission on Population and the Civil Society Organization, Universal Peace Federation Incorporation.

 

The Respicio family will serve as this year’s model family in the Department’s advocacy campaign to promote empowerment, resourcefulness and self-reliability. Further, they will representthe region in the same search for the national level.

 

The awarding ceremonies of the regional search will be conducted on September of this year, during the family week celebration.
