Tuguegarao City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 (DSWD FO2 through the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) continue to distribute the Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) for beneficiaries affected by typhoon Rosita which made landfall on October 2018.
As of July 11, 2020, a total of 1,984 families with totally damaged houses while 10,492 families with partially damaged homes amounting to 182,858,500.00 pesos were served through simultaneous on-site cash pay-outs in Isabela since June 26, 2020. On-site pay-outs are still conducted all over the region.
According to DRMD Information Officer, Edsel Mia Carbonell, the field office targets to accomplish the cash pay-outs intended for 40,903 households in 36 municipalities of Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya in the coming weeks. “The distribution will be on a per batch target as the pay-outs are also done simultaneously with other cash assistance programs of the Department. However, we would like to assure the public that the Department will not cease until the cash aid is a hundred percent distributed.”
The ESA for TY Rosita aimed to grant thirty thousand pesos (Php 30,000.00) to households with totally damaged houses including a ten-day built-in Cash for Work (CFW) while ten thousand pesos (Php 10,000.00) plus five-day built-in CFW to households with partially damaged houses. Rates of CFW varies per region where Region 02 is pegged at Php 255.00 per day.
