CAGAYAN Valley – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 celebrated the new year with children and youth housed in the three (3) Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs) in the region, on 01 January 2024.
The said celebration is in accordance to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian’s directive to provide entertainment and festivity to the residents, despite being apart from their own families and communities. Its goal is to also allow the residents to enjoy the holiday season whilst in the agency’s care facilities.
During the celebration, residents of the CRCFs had the opportunity to showcase their skills through their prepared intermission numbers. Furthermore, center heads, house parents, and residential psychologists facilitated various parlor games for the residents.
Currently, there are three CRCFs in the region, namely the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC), Regional Haven for Women and Girls (RHWG), both located in Solana, Cagayan, and the Cagayan Valley- Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (CV-RRCY) in Enrile, Cagayan.
CRCFs are facilities that provide care, treatment and rehabilitation services, under the guidance of trained staff. In here, residents are cared for under a structured therapeutic environment with the end view of reintegrating them into their families and communities as well as help them become socially functioning individuals.
