Through the advocacy of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02’s Listahanan database, Saint Paul University Tuguegarao City, Cagayan has identified deserving beneficiaries for its various programs and services.

Almost 1,000 poor households identified by Listahanan database benefitted from the university’s One Million Lights Project, Community Extension Services and Community Outreach Programs.

One Million Lights Project provides renewable powered lighting to communities without electricity through microgrids-solar powered lights. Of the identified households, 330 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Baggao benefited.

Meanwhile, Community Extension Services such as livelihood training and demonstration of soap and paper beads making, food processing, baking and seminar on Good Parenting and on how to handle disaster, catered to 70 poor households of Solana, Alcala and Penablanca, Cagayan.

The Barangays Jurisdicion and Bangag of Solana and Barangay Pagbankeruan of Alcala were served with Community Outreach program that includes gift giving, home visitation, children’s tutorial, provision of hygiene kits and feeding activities, among others.

In addition, St. Paul University is currently using Listahanan database in the planning of future community extension partnership.

Listahanan data base is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are. This serves as a reliable basis in identifying eligible beneficiaries of social protection programs and services of Local Government Unit (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other stakeholders. ### By: AILYN P.
