Department of Social Welfare and Development   Field Office  02 Regional Director Remia T. Tapispisan  formally opened PANAGDADAPUN FESTIVAL in the Province of Quirino on September 4, 2014 in celebration of the 43rd Founding Anniversary of the province.

“I honor and recognize DSWD because it cares for the poor and since this celebration is dedicated to the poor, it is but fitting that Director Remia T. Tapispisan  be our Guest Speaker because her department   is our partner  as public servant in carrying out our advocacy for the poor,” explained Governor  Junie E. Cua.

The tribute to DSWD, said Gov. Cua,  is  the Quirinians way of showing gratitude and appreciation for the unwavering  support of DSWD FO 02 to the less fortunate people of Quirino.

Meanwhile, one of the highlights of the celebration was the initial issuance of check for the Core Shelter Assistance Project (CSAP) amounting to Php52,500,000.00 for the benefit of 750 families whose houses were  devastated during the onslaught of typhoon Labuyo last year.  The CSAP Fund was part of the Rehabilitation Fund taken from DSWD Central Office in the amount of Php85,747,625.00. The said Rehabilitation Fund will be used for Cash for Work and Emergency Shelter Assistance projects which will cater to 9,504 affected families in the whole Province of Quirino.
