The Protective Services Unit (PSU) of the DSWD Field Office 02 conducted the Comprehensive Intervention Against Gender-based Violence (CIAGV) Training from March 1-4, 2016 in Tuguegarao City and participated by City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers from the 4th, 5th and 6th class municipalities throughout region 2.
The said training aims to equip MSWDOs on how to intervene against cases of gender violence in their respective areas and for them to have a way to detect cases of such.
The 4-day training was led by Ms. Jay Marie E. Durian, Project Development Officer (PDO) III of the DSWD Led Council Secretariat.
“The aim of the training is to strengthen participants’ knowledge about gender-based violence and the necessary skills that they would need if cases like these ever arise in their respective areas,” Ms. Durian said.
She also added that the event would be of importance given the limited ways to identify cases of gender-violence in the region.
The said training earned a thumbs up from the participants, hence, Ms. Durian said DSWD is gearing for another set of these trainings for other C/MSWDOS in the region. ### By: CHESTER CARLO M. TRINIDAD, Administrative Assistant III – Listahanan
