A total of 90 families  received their Certificate of Completion and Acceptance for their core shelter units  in Divilacan, Isabela on April 24-25, 2016.

The said turnover ceremony was graced by the local officials and the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02’s officials where 33 families in Bicobian and 57 families in Dimapnat gratefully received.

One of the recipients of the core shelter units said that with a typhoon-resilient roof under their head, they are no longer afraid should typhoons threaten to rummage their area.

“I will always be grateful to DSWD for its support to my constituents,” expressed Mayor Florita R. Bulan

The beneficiaries were the  affected families of Typhoon Juan in 2010 whose houses were crashed to the ground by the said typhoon. As of date, a total of 410 core shelter units under the Core Shelter Assistance Project were extended to the Municipality of Divilacan.

CSAP is the provision of environment-friendly, structurally strong shelter units that can withstand up to 220 kph wind velocity, earthquakes, and other similar natural hazards.

The affected Local Government Unit (LGU) submits a proposal identifying the lot where the shelters will be constructed and the residents will form a Neighborhood Association for Shelter Assistance (NASA) to manage their new community. ### By: Rommel S.
