Backing up President Rodrigo Duterte’s war against drugs, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02’s OIC Regional Director Ponciana P. Condoy get tested for drugs during the launching of the drug-free workplace initiative in Tuguegarao City.
Condoy, together with other members of the Regional Development Council (RDC) and the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) took part in the said drug testing exercise administered by the Philippine National Police crime Laboratory.
“We at RDC recognizes that the increasing use of illegal drugs and the reprehensible drug trade have significantly contributed to the incidences of heinous crimes in the region. Thus, this effort of ours to establish a drug-free workplaces in the region,” Condoy said.
She likewise encouraged all government offices to promote a safe and healthy working environment.
All representatives of the two councils who participated in the drug testing exercise were given a drug-free tab.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported that the use of dangerous drugs is still very rampant in the region which affects 570 barangays with a total of 1,797 persons identified as drug users or pushers. ###By: Gela Flor R. Perez, Regional Information Officer II
