By  virtue of Republic Act (RA) 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continuously conducts advocacy activities to promote the rights and welfare of disadvantaged and vulnerable sectors, including older persons.

As part of the advocacy, the DSWD – Field Office 02 OIC-Assistant Regional Director (ARD), Lucia S. Alan attended and actively participated in the “Walk for Life” activity as part of the simultaneous kick-off celebration of Elderly Filipino Week.

ARD Alan willingly joined the Zumba with the senior citizens.

The event was filled with delight and relief as the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) President, Ruben Tumbaga, announced new services and other privileges that the senior citizens of Cauayan City may avail. ### By: Margarette B. Galimba, Listahanan Information Officer
