Batanes – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 continues to provide assistance to ‘Ferdie’ victims in Batanes through its Social Welfare and Development Office (SWAD) in Batanes.

“Aside from family food packs and other non-food items that we give to  typhoon victims, the DSWD has other programs that will be of great help to the families particularly those with school-aged children,” said ms. Rosemarie Bartolome, Batanes SWAD Team Leader.

Ms. Bartolome shared that thru  DSWD’s  Protective Services Program, it was able to provide educational assistance to students who were not able to save their school uniforms, books and other school materials.

Emiliana Jocelyn Duguran of Itbud, Uyugan has three (3) children studying at Itbud Integrated School, received P3,000.00 education assistance from DSWD thru its SWAD Office.

“We thank DSWD for the support that they extended to all of us, Ivantans. I am very grateful that DSWD has this educational assistance program that is of great help to us who send their kids to school,” said Duguran.
