Tuguegarao City – The cash pay-out of Emergency Subsidy (ES) for 525 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Region 2 was conducted simultaneously by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 (DSWD-FO2) at various locations in the region starting yesterday, April 21, 2020.

According to DSWD Financial Analyst III for 4Ps, Mervin Mercado, the cash pay-out is the Department’s selected method of disbursement of the 4,150.00-peso subsidy for 4Ps families who currently do not have their cash cards for various reasons while the additional 1,350.00 will be distributed following the regular pay period in the coming weeks to complete the 5,500.00-peso total amount of emergency subsidy.

“The reasons for not having a cash card include a pending account opening of the beneficiary, inclusion of incoming beneficiaries, or unclaimed cash cards from the bank, all of which were suspended since the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ),” he explained.

He further explained that the Department has requested for Land Bank to allow over-the-counter withdrawals for those under card replacement due to lost or stolen cash cards.

The ES is part of the Social Amelioration Program of DSWD where 18 Million poor households, including the 4.4 million 4Ps households, in the country will be given 5,000-8,000 peso subsidy to augment the family income affected by the ECQ. In Region 2, there are 105, 540 4Ps households that are targeted to receive the subsidy.
