The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office II represented by Regional Director Remia T. Tapispisan spearheaded the inauguration of 80 core shelter units in Brgy. Magapit, Lallo , Cagayan recently.

Director Tapispisan also awarded the Certificate of Completion and Acceptance to the family recipients, who lost their houses during the onslaught of Typhoon Juan.

In her message, Director Tapispisan said that the government is always ready to help the people, especially the needy.

“Kami sa DSWD ay handang maglingkod anumang oras, lalo na sa mga tunay na nangangailangan. Isang katibayan nito ay itong Core Shelter Assistance Project, kaya sana ingatan niyo ito at pahalagahan dahil ito ang simula ng inyong bagong buhay,” she said.

Also, present during the ceremony were Board Member Maria Olivia B. Pascual, members of the Sanggunian Bayan, Department Heads of the Local Government Unit of Lallo and barangay officials.

Moreover, Board Member Pascual expressed appreciation for the programs and services of DSWD, particularly the CSAP which provides shelter to homeless families.

The core shelter units are strongly-structured and can withstand 180 to 220 kilometer per hour wind, intensity four (4) earthquakes, flooding and other similar hazard.

Core Shelter Assistance Project or CSAP is one of the rehabilitation projects of the national government implemented by DSWD.
