Tuguegarao City, CAGAYAN — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 (DSWD FO2) continues to implement Enhanced Social Support for Individuals (ESSI) projects aimed at uplifting the lives of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries across the Cagayan Valley Region.
Through the ESSI, DSWD FO2 has recently funded various community-based livelihood initiatives aimed at helping poor households achieve economic independence.
Among the recently funded projects are a tomato production initiative amounting to ₱575,000 for 23 beneficiaries in Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya; sari-sari store and mud crab fattening ventures worth ₱900,000 for 48 beneficiaries in Palanan, Isabela; and a hog raising project valued at ₱378,164.80 for 26 beneficiaries in Nagtipunan, Quirino.
The ESSI program provides a menu of projects and services geared at addressing the barriers and vulnerabilities that hinder the socioeconomic development of the most vulnerable 4Ps households, including indigenous peoples (IPs), homeless families (HFs), and beneficiaries from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).
DSWD FO2, in coordination with local government units and partner stakeholders, continues to monitor these interventions to empower 4Ps families toward self-sufficiency.
