LAL-LO, CAGAYAN – In a grand provincial graduation ceremony of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), 266 families from Cagayan Province were formally recognized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 2 (DSWD FO2) for reaching a self-sufficient level of well-being.

Jinky Nogueras, one of the graduates and a member of the Nogueras Family who was recently hailed as Regional Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya, shared a message of gratitude to the program.

“Through resilience ken suporta iti 4Ps, matutunan tayu nga bumangon ken lumaban kadagiti dagup iti panagbiyag. (Sa pamamagitan ng katatagan at sa suporta sa programa ng 4Ps, natututo tayong bumangon at lumaban sa kabila ng hamon sa buhay. Nagpapasalamat ako na isa ang aming pamilya sa mga napiling tumanggap ng mga tulong na ito. Hindi namin sinayang ang mga tulong na ito dahil naging malaking katuwang ito sa aking ina upang patuloy kaming pag-aralin at mayroon kami ng ipambibili ng makakain.)

Her mother, Buenaflora Nogueras, a solo parent, persevered tirelessly to provide for her children’s education and basic needs. Thanks to the assistance from 4Ps, Jinky successfully earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

“With the help of 4Ps, we have not only survived the challenges but have also grown stronger as a family,” she added.

As part of their transition, Local Government Units extended additional support by providing livelihood kits, cash assistance, and grocery items. Partner Civil Society Organization, Pacific Star International Employment Agency Corp., also distributed tokens to the graduating families.

DSWD FO2 Assistant Regional Director for Operations Franco Lopez noted in his keynote message that this significant milestone of the 4Ps beneficiaries marks their readiness to move forward independently, having gained skills and resources for sustainable living through the Family Development Sessions and other support of the LGUs and partners.

In a symbolic gesture of continued support, ARDO Lopez also led the turnover of case folders to the LGUs, signifying a commitment to providing continuous assistance as they transition out of the program.

The ceremonial graduation was sponsored by the Local Government Unit of Lal-lo headed by Municipal Mayor Florante Pascual.

Also present during the activity were Cagayan 1st District Board Member Florence Oliver B. Pascual, Lal-lo Vice Mayor Olive Pascual, OIC Mayor of Camalaniugan Melbourne Tenorio, other LGU officials and representatives, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDO),  Local Advisory Council (LAC) Members, PSIEA Human Resource Representative Jomar Balasabas, Barangay Officials and other guests.
