TUGUEGARAO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 2 convened the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officers (PSWDOs) for the first quarter roundtable discussion on the implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) on February 16, 2024 at NGN Hotel.
Hosted by the Provincial Local Government Unit of Cagayan, said activity was attended by PSWDOs Helen Donato of Cagayan, Flordelina Granada of Nueva Vizcaya, Agaton Pagbilao Jr. of Quirino, and Marirose Nicasio, representing PSWDO Lucila Ambatali of Isabela who engaged in fruitful exchanges, sharing insights, challenges, and best practices in their respective provinces.
The discussions delved into several key areas, including the current status of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program implementation, the status of support provided under Social Protection and Sensitivity in the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Assessment, a review of the PSWDOs Workshop Synthesis and Action Points, updates on the National Workshop, and the results of the 2023 Social Welfare Development Indicators (SWDI).
Regional Director Lucia Suyu-Alan emphasized the indispensable role of PSWDOs in driving the success of 4Ps initiatives, stating, “This roundtable discussion presents a unique opportunity for us to collectively strategize and enhance our collaborative efforts in advancing the goals of the 4Ps.”
The event provided an opportunity to assess the progress of 4Ps implementation, identify challenges, and chart strategic pathways for future interventions, re-affirming the shared commitment to enhance the well-being of 4Ps beneficiaries.
