BATANES – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 2 (DSWD FO2) reaffirms its commitment of uplifting the well-being of Ivatans through the implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the province.

A total of 297 4Ps households in Batanes, spanning across its six municipalities, were recently registered in the program.

This year’s implementation kicked off with a series of courtesy calls by Project Development Officers Allan Ibay and Roezl Yusingco to Provincial Governor Marilou Cayco, and key authorities from the Provincial and Municipal Local Government Units (PLGUs and MLGUs) and Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs), with the goal to strengthen collaboration and establish a shared commitment to the program’s objectives.

Further, orientations followed suit for PLGUs, MLGUs, and Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) to ensure unified understanding of the 4Ps, as well as emphasize the roles of Compliance Verification Officers in the implementation process.

Other activities include conduct of Family Development Sessions and house-to-house ‘kamustahan’ visits to newly-registered beneficiaries; distribution, checking and retrieval of Compliance Verification Forms, and facilitation of beneficiary update forms.

The inaugural program implementation in Batanes cemented the coverage of 4Ps in Region 2 to encompass all cities and municipalities across the five (5) provinces.
