NUEVA VIZCAYA – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office II (DSWD FO2), in partnership with the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Nueva Vizcaya, sustained the implementation of Project GOALS (Great Opportunities in Attaining Life Skills) with a two-day session conducted on April 28–29, 2025, at Highlander Hotel and Resort.
The activity was attended by 40 out-of-school youth beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), aged 12-15, who are facing challenges that have led them to disengage from school. Through this initiative, the youth were equipped with practical life skills, enhanced self-confidence, and motivation to reintegrate into formal education.
Now in its third year, Project GOALS continues to serve as a platform for addressing the challenges that hinder the educational pursuits of vulnerable youth through interactive workshops, group discussions, and values formation activities.
At the end of the activity, all 40 participants expressed a desire to return to school. Several Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) are also planning to conduct similar sessions during the vacation period to reach more 4Ps children.
The initiative is part of the PLGU’s commitment to addressing the issue of 4Ps children not attending school, equipping them with skills and motivation to reengage with education.
